Privacy policy

What we collect

• Calculator inputs and results: nothing. Age, sex used by the equation, height, weight, BMI, calorie targets and macros stay in your browser tab. They are not sent to a server, not written into the page address, not saved to a profile and not included in analytics.
• Cookie choice. One essential entry in your browser storage remembering whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics.
• Optional anonymous analytics events — only after you accept. Examples: calculator_started, calculator_completed, unit_system_changed, results_copied, related_article_clicked. Event names and counts only, never your values.
• Server logs created by our hosting provider and CDN for security and abuse prevention, including IP address, timestamp, requested address and user agent.
• Messages you send us by email, including your name, email address and what you wrote.

Why we collect it, and the legal basis

Essential cookies and server logs rest on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (and, for the cookie choice, on the legal requirement to record consent). Optional analytics rest on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Correspondence rests on our legitimate interest in answering you.

Processors

• Hosting and CDN provider — serves pages, keeps security logs.
• Privacy-focused analytics provider — loaded only after consent, configured without cross-site tracking.
• Email provider — receives and stores messages you choose to send us.
• Advertising: no advertising or profiling trackers are loaded before consent.

Retention

• Calculator inputs: not retained at all; they disappear when you close or reload the tab.
• Cookie choice: up to 12 months, then you are asked again.
• Analytics events: aggregated, retained up to 14 months.
• Server logs: up to 30 days.
• Email correspondence: up to 24 months.

International processing

Our hosting, CDN, analytics and email providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, transfers rely on the relevant standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or objection, and you may complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold no profile about you, most requests will concern correspondence or analytics aggregates. Write to hello@velofitzone.com and we will answer within one month.

Cookie choices

Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and rejecting is remembered. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie banner or by clearing site data. See the cookie policy.

Children

The calculators are built for adults aged 20 and over and the site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
